In the summer of 2000, Harvest Baptist Missions began a new ministry – Youth Trek – a summer soul-winning missions camp. Other than the obvious goal of helping to fulfill our Lord’s Great Commission, Youth Trek is designed to expose teenagers to life as a missionary.

The teens are first taught by their own churches how to go door-to-door soul-winning. They are then brought together with a group of teenagers from several other churches to spend a week sharing the gospel with people right in their own communities. As a result of their efforts, they have seen many accept Christ and have invited them to an evening service at the church that is hosting us that day. Throughout the week, they are exposed to what a missionary will typically do as he works to plant a new church in the area that God has called him to. As a result of Youth Trek, we have seen teenagers surrender their lives to full time service and to missions and I am convinced that we will continue to see that in the future. Ultimately, Youth Trek will be a feeder pool for the missionary sending agency ministry of Harvest Baptist Missions.

Since this ministry began, we have given out tens of thousands of gospel tracts, clearly shared the gospel hundreds of times, and seen more than 300 precious souls accept Jesus Christ’s free gift of salvation. At the same time, we are seeing the Lord raise up more laborers for His harvest field!
